The profile of the students
Who are the students at the “Lamaro-Pozzani” College? This is not an easy question to answer and a single answer is practically impossible.
Without doubt, the students must possess certain traits in common. It goes without saying that a lively intellect and success in their studies are essential, but they also need to be sufficiently sociable to be able to spend a good part of the day together. Another essential characteristic is the ambition to dedicate themselves, and not just in their university years, to the pursuit of excellence. However, any attempt to reduce these characteristics to a model or standard would be unlikely to work.

All our students (in Italian).
The variety of experience, the different ambitions and objectives and the range of individual choice of course are among the strong points of the College. This is borne out by the facts, as we have students from all over Italy and even some who are not Italian.
Many of our students, in the course of the years, have taken part in cultural exchanges. All have learnt to develop their individual personalities, their passions and personal interests, while at the same time they have learnt to respect the needs of their companions.
Sherlock Holmes believed that it was essential to build on a very narrow range of disciplines and that one’s knowledge should be highly specific. He had an immense knowledge of chemistry and an encyclopaedic experience in the field of cigars, but had chosen to remain ignorant of philosophy, literature, economics and everything that did not have a direct relation to his detective work. At “Lamaro Pozzani” we are not looking for the Sherlock Holmes type. We believe rather, that an all-round preparation, an interdisciplinary background and an intellect which is tuned in to the diversity of knowledge are of inestimable added value in the education of the leading players both in today’s society and in that of tomorrow.
The “Lamaro Pozzani” University College is home to an average of 70 students. This year there are 68, divided among the different years and from all over Italy: 12 are from the North, 27 from the Centre and 29 from the South and the Islands.
All the main areas of study are represented. In the academic year 2007/2008, 6 students were enrolled in arts degrees, 25 in law and economics, 20 in sciences and 17 in engineering.
